In 1953, Marilyn Monroe was at the height of her career. She had just appeared in the hit movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and was one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood. In May of that year, she appeared on the cover of the first issue of Playboy magazine, a move that propelled her further into the public spotlight. Monroe also made headlines that year for her marriage to baseball legend Joe DiMaggio, which lasted only nine months. Despite her success and popularity, Monroe struggled with personal issues and ultimately died in 1962 at the age of 36.
